Medium #2
Dreaming: 4 judges sitting in an old Victorian Hall. 2 men in white lab coats walking across the stage with the painting. All I want at this point is a Maybe.
Awake: In my studio at 1am to have a look at the canvas. I only have 3 weeks.

Started on the dummy for Ned Kelly’s “The Green Sash”…Mark has stacks of research that he handballed to me. For the first time I’m using a prebound blank book for the sloppy copies. I love the idea of having the gutter so prevelant. The type is on removeable tape-good thing as it’s been here, there and everywhere.
The canvas is soft as…I’m on Medium #1. My subject is reclining on a blue sofa. The sofa is perched on rocks by the sea. Inspirations: Van Gogh’s “Blue Room”, Matisse’s “Jazz” and Henry Miller’s “Paint as You Like and Die Happy”.

Bought the most beautiful pure canvas. Painting an Achibald. I did the Maths. I have a 3% chance of getting in.
The galleys for The Green Sash also arrived. The ball is now in my court.
And for those of us who need to buy holiday presents, buy a book, this book.
